Our school is the centre of our farming community. We are situated on the Southern Scenic Route in Western Southland, New Zealand. With the Takitimu Mountains to the east of us and the Waiau River to the west. We are on the edge of the Fiordland National Park.

Currently Blackmount School is sole charge with 9 pupils attending. We will have 2 new entrants this year. The children range in age from 5 to 12 years old.

The school has expansive grounds which include;

large playing field with a mountain backdrop

a top of the line solar heated swimming facility, which has been designed for kayak training
